Call for papers

The aim of the IGTE Symposium is to present and discuss recent developments in computational electromagnetics (low frequency as well as high frequency) and its practical application. Special emphasis is put on papers dealing with problems covering multi-physical aspects. Authors are also invited to submit papers coupling electromagnetic field calculation with optimization and/or reconstruction methods. We would like to stress that the IGTE Symposium understands itself as a splendid chance to introduce master students and PhD students and their work into our scientific community. Therefore, a special poster session will be organized for master students and PhD students.
On Monday, September 21, 2020 during the afternoon session of the IGTE'20 Symposium there will be a Minisymposium on "Quasistatic Electromagnetic Field Problems Including Capacitive, Inductive and Resistive Effects: Applications and Models", chaired by Prof. Markus Clemens from University of Wuppertal, Germany and Dr. Michael Panteliat, National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute", Kharkiv, Ukraine. See details ...
If you plan to be in that session, please choose the corresponding submission type in our conference management system.

The safety and well-being of our participants is of paramount importance to the organizers of IGTE'20. After careful consideration and in light of the global health emergency and pervasive travel restrictions, this year’s edition will be held in a hybrid way, namely on-site and online.

We strongly encouraging you to submit a paper to IGTE'20.

Digest: June 15, 2020  July 25, 2020

Full paper: October 19, 2020

The one-page digest should contain the title of the paper, the authors and their affiliation, a short abstract, the main contents of the paper, preliminary results and references. The digest should be submitted via the conference management system ConfTool as a PDF file and the corresponding source file (.docx or .tex), formatted in DIN A4 (Templates). Notification on acceptance or rejection of your contribution as well as details for submission of the full papers will be given before the end of July, 2020.

Full paper and journal publication

Authors of accepted papers are invited to submit a six-page full paper for publication in the IGTE’20 Proceedings. Please use the same templates as for the one-page digest. Full papers are due on October 19, 2020 and shall be uploaded via the conference management system ConfTool.
A selected number of papers will be published in COMPEL, the International Journal for Computation and Mathematics in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Issue 5, Vol. 40, 2021, after a peer reviewing procedure, the remaining papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings.

Online, On-site mixture:
Due to the pervasive travel restrictions as a consequence of the Covid-19 pandemic, it will be very difficult or even impossible for many of our colleagues to travel to Graz in September 2020. Therefore, this year's edition of the IGTE Symposium will be a mixed on-site / online one. The organizers are currently developing a hybrid concept which will allow all “participants” to present and discuss their work. Especially, poster sessions will be extended in such a way, that they will start with a short presentation using a single slide for each scheduled poster. Furthermore, additional online formats will be introduced to allow fruitful discussions, even for smaller groups of colleagues. The time difference will also be taken into account, as far as possible.
More details, especially regarding the hybrid and online concept, will be given in the mid of June on the symposium website.

For all participants attending IGTE'20 online, a reduced registration fee will apply. Luckily, it seems that the situation is improving slowly. So the organizers are looking forward to welcome as many colleagues as possible on-site. Nevertheless, in case of a return of the pandemic, the organizers will try to keep the cancellation charge as low as possible.

Please visit the symposium website from time to time and check for updates. It is already possible to create an account within the conference management system. For further details, please refer to the website or feel free to contact the organizers directly (

We are looking forward to meeting you in Graz in autumn 2020.
